Missouri continues to push for solar energy. Earlier this year, the ribbon was cut at Rolla’s 20 acre solar farm, which consists of over 10,000 solar panels. The facility has a capacity to provide energy to be consumed by about 300 to 350 average size homes annually.

Rolla isn’t the only city adapting the solar power way of life.  Other communities with solar farms include Butler, Macon, Trenton and Marshall. Independence will soon be added to this list as well. The groundbreaking ceremony of what will be the Independence Solar Energy Community Farm was held on Wednesday, September 28.
